We have a thesis: while most financial transactions today are completed by humans, in the near future our verified AI agents will complete them on our behalf. At Blitzscaling Ventures, the focus is on founders and teams who are preparing the groundwork for new markets. The firm invested in Skyfire, a company building financial and identity infrastructure for agentic commerce.
The Rise of Agentic Commerce As AI agents evolve from copilots to autonomous actors, they need the ability to transact, pay, and manage money on behalf of their users. This shift opens a new category—agentic commerce. If the internet enabled e-commerce, and mobile enabled instant payments, then agentic commerce will enable AI agents to become participants in markets, capable of making purchases, paying for services, and managing financial flows.
To make this vision safe, compliant, and scalable, there must be identity, wallets, and transaction rails that connect AI agents and the human economy.
Why Skyfire
Skyfire is addressing this challenge directly. Their platform offers three core capabilities:
Identity of Agents (KYA) — Know Your Agent, certified and tied back to a human for accountability, read Craig's thoughts on KYA.
Wallet Technology — Embedded wallets that hold value and fund agents with safety measures.
Transaction Capability — The ability to transact with USDC and more, enabling microtransactions and programmable flows with safety features.
By combining identity, wallets, and payments, Skyfire is creating the infrastructure layer that allows agents to operate safely in commerce.
Proven team for many years
One of the reasons Blitzscaling Ventures invested in Skyfire is the experience of the founding team and core engineers. Their prior company, Jibe, led by CEO Amir Sarhangi was acquired by Google, and many of the same leaders went on to contribute at Ripple including Craig DeWitt, a blockchain payment network. Now, they are bringing that background together at Skyfire.
This is the kind of track record the firm looks for: founders who have built before, scaled, and regrouped to take on a bigger problem. Skyfire is on the path to become the PayPal and/or Visa of agentic commerce.
Looking Ahead
Agentic commerce is developing quickly. AI agents are already beginning to transact, purchase APIs, and manage subscriptions. Without trusted infrastructure, adoption will be limited. Skyfire is building that infrastructure.
