We’ve backed Gizmo: A Social, Gamified Learning Platform

ree

At Blitzscaling Ventures, we invest in founders building products with the potential to reshape consumer behavior at scale. There are many forms of learning, but we know this is one that resonates: mobile and games are engaging, and they are changing how people study. Gizmo is making this future a reality by transforming how millions of people learn and retain knowledge, and we are proud to invest in them.

Gizmo is a mobile-first social learning platform that helps users “learn anything.” Students upload notes or PDFs, or simply enter a topic, and Gizmo’s AI generates flashcards, quizzes, and step-by-step learning paths. The experience is lightweight, visual, and habit-forming, with gameplay loops inspired by consumer mobile apps. The result is a dynamic environment where studying becomes interactive, social, and repeatable.

Gizmo’s product spans three integrated learning modes: Understand, where AI generates structured lessons; Memorize, where flashcards and spaced-repetition quizzes build recall; and Social, where learners engage in multiplayer quiz battles with classmates, friends, and peers. Together, these modes turn learning into a highly engaging, daily practice.

Gizmo was founded by a group of lifelong friends from Cambridge University with backgrounds in AI research, teaching, and consumer software. CEO Petros Christodoulou leads with a rare combination of product intuition, esp with network effects and viral loops, focus and founder drive. Alongside him, co-founders and a lean team of fewer than ten have delivered a product that has already reached global scale. Their DNA blends education, AI engineering, and consumer growth mechanics—skills rarely seen together in edtech.

Network Effects:

Gizmo’s defensibility comes from its community-driven flywheel. As users join, they upload study materials and generate quizzes that benefit the whole community. Schools and universities quickly form high-density clusters, where adoption cascades through entire classes. More learners create more content, which draws in more learners—a compounding effect that strengthens the platform over time. This ecosystem of user-generated content and peer engagement ensures that the platform becomes more valuable with every additional learner.

Viral Effects:

Gizmo’s growth engine is powered by viral loops embedded directly into the product:Peer-based onboarding: Students invite classmates, driving concentrated adoption within schools and study groups. Social gameplay: Multiplayer quizzes and leaderboards encourage competition, habit formation, and repeat usage. These viral effects have enabled Gizmo to scale rapidly across borders with little marketing spend, proving that compelling consumer learning platforms spread through culture and community.

We believe Gizmo is building a new category of learning—social, gamified, and community-powered. With a talented team, organic traction, and a product designed for virality and network effects, Gizmo is redefining how a generation learns and retains knowledge.

We're excited to partner with Gizmo as they continue to scale.
